CARPET OF YOUR DREAMS
The finest wool is gathered from sheared sheep in the autumn. This is the most important step in the carpet-making process. After shearing, the wool is graded according to its quality. This sheared wool is then cleaned, scoured, graded and sorted, carded, spun, woven, and finished.
Carding aids in the separation of fibers and the sorting of wool. We practice carding by hand because it can be done mechanically. After that, the raw wool is cleaned and spun into yarn. Spinning is done in a variety of ways and methods, such as warp, weft, or pile. Our rural women spin yarn with a traditional spindle.
Fawz Hub can help you design your dream carpet with the help of our qualified and experienced designers. We have a wonderful design studio that houses the best designers, resulting in the best creation. This design team creates one-of-a-kind masterpieces inspired by either the classical school of rug weaving or modern and contemporary art forms.
The creative team decides on the color palette to use as soon as the design is completed. At times, the design may call for a bold and vibrant color, while other times, an elegant, sophisticated palette is required.
The wool yarn is dipped repeatedly in the large color tubs to ensure it is thoroughly colored, depending on the needs of the colors decided by the design team. The colored yarns are exposed to the sun to dry. Natural dyes are used in more exclusive carpets, whereas synthetic dyes are used in simpler carpets. The dyeing usually takes place in large containers, which are often still in the inner courtyards.
During the weaving process, the wool yarn is woven into the fabric. Weavers in the process use simple tools like a knife with a hook, scissors, Tufted electric machines, and a heavy wood and metal comb. The rows of knots and weft are beaten together with the help of these tools. The rugs are woven by artisans using a rug map that is provided to them. The necessary raw materials are then delivered to weaving centers, along with life-sized graphs of designs.
The washing process begins after the raw clipping is completed and the weaving process is completed. Rugs are washed in this process to ensure that the natural sheen of the yarns used comes through.
The rug is now finished. It is stretched even more, and the edge binding is applied to level it. The rug is then evened out using a high low carving process. It is then trimmed to remove any uneven fibers. Following that, hand shearing is performed to give the rugs a unique layered look and ensure they are ready to ship.
